Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 6 wickets

Bangladesh have bowled out Zimbabwe for their third-lowest total in ODIs and fifth lowest ODI total of all time. The African team could only manage to score 44 as Bangladesh have pulled off one of their most disciplined bowling efforts of all time, albeit against a weaker side. The early morning haze combined with the sharp bowling of Hossain and Razzak got the better of the Zimbabwe top-order. They were in dire straits at 8-4 before Waller and Matsikinyeri put on 24 for the fifth wicket. They were the only two batsmen to register double digits. Enamul Haque Jr and skipper Hasan then broke the stand and went on to rattle the lower-order without too much worry. Hossain and Razzak and took two wickets, while Haque and Hasan claimed three. Waller was the top-scorer with 13. This has been a nightmare for Zimbabwe. They would be hoping this is nothing but a bad dream. Unfortunately this is not. They will have to come out and defend their meagre total now. Join us for the run-chase in about 10 minutes. It should be a quick finish to a highly eventful first-half.

Hamilton Masakadza walks out to the middle with Mark Vermeulen. Nazmul Hossain will begin proceedings with the new ball. Here we go.

Zimbabwe have won the toss and elected to bat first. Just one change as Mark Vermeulen comes into the side. Shakib Al Hasan reckons 230 will be a good total to chase and that his spinners are good enough to pick up wickets. No changes for Bangladesh.

The pitch is made up of black clay. It is composed of fresh grass but it may not be too bouncy. Expect it to be on the slow and low side.

It is a bit hazy at the moment. But the sun will come out as the innings progresses.

The 5-ODI series has reached its business end as Bangladesh take on Zimbabwe in the fourth ODI at Chittagong tomorrow. It is now or never for the visitors as a loss here would mean a series loss as Bangladesh are already 2-1 up. It is a day game and starts at 0330 GMT. Zimbabwe have been plagued by injuries with skipper Prosper Utseya and Tatenda Taibu missing the last two games. Their batting is still finding it difficult to play spin, though it was a much improved performance in the 3rd ODI. Their bowling was excellent in the previous game making Bangladesh sweat to chase a meagre total of 197. Bangladesh have been in tremendous form on the bowling front with the spinners making merry. However, skipper Shakib Al Hasan was very unhappy with the way his team batted in the previous game where a batting collapse ensued. In the field, the hosts were still rusty and dropped a couple of catches. But on the whole, Bangladesh look much stronger than their counterparts and look set for their 3rd straight ODI series win. However, as in the first ODI, if any of the Zimbabwean match-winners in Hamilton Masakadza, Elton Chigumbura or Charles Coventry have their day, we might well see a series decider in the final ODI. The weather is predicted to be hazy so the ball will move around in the first hour.
