Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 6 wickets
Bangladesh
Zimbabwe
Bangladesh have won the match by six wickets. With that, they win the Grameenphone Cup. Chasing 45 was never going to be difficult, especially after the Bangladesh openers got the team off to a good start. However the Zimbabwe spinners replicated the success the Bangladesh spinners had which was proof of the turning strip. Four wickets fell in quick succession as Bangladesh faltered chasing the fifth lowest ODI total. They eventually won by six wickets but they surely made a small total of 45 look bigger than it was. Zimbabwe will look back and feel that even a total of 120 could have been challenging on a surface like this. Price and Cremer claimed two wickets apiece. Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat. They were soon made to regret their decision after they were reduced to 8-4. They never recovered from there. Bangladesh deployed its spinners to bowl out Zimbabwe for 44. They then strolled home to victory to take an unassailable 3-1 series lead, not to mention a huge psychological advantage with this win. Nazmul Hossain is named Man of the Match for his figures of 2-10 in 6 overs. That's all we have for you from this match. It sure has been a very brief affair. See you for the next ODI between these two teams, on Thursday, where Zimbabwe will have to play out of their skins to win on the same turning track. Till then. Goodbye.
