Australia have won the 3rd ODI at The Rosebowl, Southampton by 6 wickets, having finished with 230/4 in 48.3 overs. It was a lot of hard work as the English bowlers made scoring difficult and kept the ball in the right areas. They lost a couple of wickets early and runs were hard to come by but Cameron White along with his skipper, Michael Clarke, showed high levels of patience as they put on a 143 run partnership for the third wicket. It was never easy going as they had patches where the runs dried up and the required rate kept climbing, but they kept their wickets intact and knew they had the Batting Power Play to their disposal. The Aussies took it at the best possible time and even though they both lost their wickets towards the end, the match had already been won. With this win Australia take a 3-0 lead in the 7 match series which now means one more defeat for England would mean the end of the series for them. There is a reason for the English to celebrate though as their football team has ensured qualification to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Do join us for the 4th ODI at Lord's on Saturday.
