England beat Australia by 4 wickets
England
Australia
Despite some late drama, England win the final ODI by 4 wickets as they chase down the 177-run target in 40 overs. The win wasn't that convincing for England but they will take it as they prevented the visitors from making it a historic 7-0 white-wash in the series. England openers set the tone early-on against a scratchy Australian pace attack and despite a middle-order collapse, the home side managed to win the game with Collingwood(13*) solid at one end. Definitely one cannot forget that the win was inspired by Swann's maiden five wicket haul in ODI's which helped his side bowl out the Aussies for that low total. Just a reminder, Australia move back to No.3 in the ODI rankings behind India with South Africa on top.
England players did not seem that happy with the win and why would they be, it's a 1-6 series loss for them. But they would definitely take this as a good practice game going into the Champions Trophy starting from Tuesday. Australia would now be pretty much confident going into the 8-nation tournament for which they will be considered favourites after this thrashing win against England. Stay tuned for the presentation news..
Graeme Swann is the Man of the Match. Cameron White is chosen as the Player of the series for consistently performing through the series.
Thank You folks for tuning into this game. Do join us for all the live action during the upcoming Champions Trophy starting this Tuesday. Good Bye! Cheers!
