Yesterday, records tumbled and remarkable milestones were achieved by the two great batsmen Tendulkar and Ganguly respectively. India got off to a great start as they scored 311-5 and the home team will to gain on the momentum in the morning session. Meanwhile, the Australian bowlers will like to forget their lack lustre performance on day 1 and hit back hard today. Join us for all the action.

Stumps are called on day 1. In the 85 overs bowled today, India scored 311-5 with Ganguly (54*) and night-watchman Ishant Sharma (2*) still in the middle. It was a historical day at Mohali as milestones galored on the opening day of the second Test. First it was master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar (88) who completed 12000 runs in Test cricket and in the course, he also surpassed Brian Lara as the highest run-getter in the five-day version of the game. Then it was Ganguly's turn who achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the fourth Indian to cross 7000 Test runs. The experienced duo shared a commandable 142-run stand for the 5th wicket to help India cross 300 runs on the opening day. The first session of the second Test match belonged to the hosts as they have piled on 104 runs for the loss of one wicket at Lunch. The Indian openers assured that their captain's decision was right to bat first as they dominated with a 70-run stand. The Aussie bowling wasn't up to the mark and indisciplined line and length didn't help their cause too. The only success for the tourists in the morning session was the wicket of Sehwag (35).
