Ireland beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets

Bangladesh have finished with 137/8 at the end of their 20 overs. It was a lack lustre batting performance from them as most of their batsmen struggled against some quality Irish bowlering and got out playing poor shots. It was all Ireland for 19 overs as they kept Bangladesh's run rate below 6 till that point. Johnston was the star bowler finishing with 3/20 off his 4 overs picking up the crucial wickets at the top. But the last over of the innings could be the defining moment as Moshrafe Mortaza hit Cusack for 20 runs with two sixes taking Bangladesh past the 135 run mark and giving them something to defend. Mortaza finished with 33 off 16 balls and was their top scorer.

We are about to get underway as the Irish players take the field and we are waiting for the Bangladesh openers to make their way out.

Welcome to game seven of the ICC World Twenty20 in Nottingham where Bangladesh take on Ireland in a do or die situation. Bangladesh played on the same pitch in their first game against India and have decided to go with two spinners.

William Porterfield won the toss for Ireland and decided to field first.

The pitch is the same one which was used for Bagladesh's first match. It's a good one for batting and the ball should come on nicely. But as seen before it will offer some help to the spinners.

The conditions are similar to how they have been over the last couple of days with temperatures around 13 degrees. There is some cloud around but not too threatening.

Bangladesh play Ireland in a potential knock out tie at Trent Bridge, Nottingham today with India being the third team in the group. Bangladesh go into the match after tasting defeat against a strong Indian side. They will back themselves against Ireland though because of the quality of players that they possess and the experience and depth they have in their batting line-up. Junaid Siddique, Mashrafe Mortaza and Shakib-Al-Hassan are all looking in good touch with bat and ball. Ireland, on the other hand would be hoping to spring a surprise and fall into the foot steps of the Netherlands team which they defeated in the warm up matches. They do have some players who can turn the tide but lack consistency and experience. It should be a cracked of a game and could well decide who qualifies into the next round alongside India, who are almost certain of making it after their opening win.
