New Zealand have done superbly to chase down India's score of 162 by making 166/3 in 18.5 overs. McCullum (56*) held up one end and played a good, patient innings with Guptill (41), Taylor (31) and Oram (29*) hitting the boundaries from the other end. Zaheer Khan was the pick of the Indian bowlers, giving just 20 runs off his 4 overs but the rest of the attack was erratic and bowled too many loose deliveries to put any pressure on the batsmen. It will be a great morale boosting victory for the Kiwis who have started this long and hard series on a winning note. Dhoni and India will be disappointed with this effort and will look to turn things around as soon as possible, beginning with the second T20 in two days time.
