Pakistan have done well to reach 175/5 at the end of their 20 overs. Kamran Akmal helped them off to a good start with a 41 off 30 balls at the top of the order. Shoaib Malik supported him well from one end and that was followed by a couple of quickfire innings from skipper, Younis Khan and Misbah Ul Haq which helped them go past the 170 run mark. Dirk Nannes was the standout performer with the ball, finishing with 1-26 off his 4 overs. Remember, Pakistan need to win by 25 runs in order to qualify to the supereight stages.

The players are out in the middle as we are about to get underway. Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal are opening the batting for Pakistan. Dirk Nannes will start proceedings for Netherlands from the Nursery end.

Pakistan have made two changes to their squad. Sohail Tanvir comes in for the struggling Yasir Arafat and Fawad Alam comes in for Ahmed Shehzad whereas Netherlands are going with the same squad which secured victory against England.

Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bat first.

The pitch is dry and hard which should be perfect conditions for batting. There are some cracks as well which means the spinners will come into play.

The weather is looking good with mostly clear skies but there is some cloud around. The temperatures are around 14 degrees with 80 percent humidity.

Pakistan face Netherlands in what has effectively become a must win situation for them after they were beaten convincingly by England on Sunday. They not only need to win but owing to their poor net run rate, need to win with a big margin to overhaul Netherlands' chances. They are a strong team and very capable of bouncing back strongly but will need to get their act together. They looked very ordinary in all departments against England including their fielding which was below par. The positives from the first game for them was the bowling performances of Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul, who had the English batsmen in all sorts of trouble. It is important that Pakistan come out to play with a clear head and handle the pressure well. Netherlands are on a high after tasting success against England at Lord's and would be backing themselves to produce another upset. They have some devastating batsmen in their side along with some good medium pace bowlers who stick to their lines and make strokeplay difficult. It's set up for another exciting encounter like most in the tournament so far as both teams need a win to survive.
