South Africa have won their second match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2009, defeating New Zealand, by 5 wickets. Unlike in the opening match of the tournament, the Proteas looked like a well-oiled unit today. They bowled well, fielded exceptionally and cruised to their total of 215 without any signs of worry. Wayne Parnell was expensive but ended with his career-best figures of 5-57. Except for skipper Graeme Smith, all other batsmen contributed with meaningful totals. However, AB de Villiers was the only one to capitalize on his good start. It was only fitting that he hit the winning runs, ending on an unbeaten 70. New Zealand were completely outplayed today and they will need to work on several aspects of their game before they meet Sri Lanka on Sunday. Wayne Parnell is named Man of the Match for his maiden five-wicket haul. He is now the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 8 scalps from just 2 games. That's all we have for you today folks.
