India will be mighty disappointed with their batting performance here as they could only set a target of 257 runs of the home side. It may not be that bad but with the way they were going in the middle overs, they looked set for something around 280 on the board, but it was not to be. Yuvraj Singh remained the top scorer with his effort of 66. All the top order batsmen got the starts but failed to continue. The Lankan bowler did a splendid job towards the end as they did not give away many in the batting Powerplay overs. Mendis, Maharoof and Kulasekara all picked up couple of wickets each. Its the second game of the 5 match ODI series between Sri Lanka and India. The visitors won the first match with ease and would be high on confidence going to Colombo. The Lankans need to ensure that they come back well in the second ODI and don't let India get away in the series. They have an inform Jayasuriya at the top of the order who became the oldest centurion in ODIs after his ton in the first game but the rest of the batting looked ordinary against the Indian bowling attack. They will need the middle order batsmen to put in a better performance including out of form skipper, Jayawardene. The Indians on the other hand would be happy with contributions coming from their top order batsmen and strike bowlers. They handled Muralidaran and Mendis very well in the first match which could be crucial in the outcome of the series.
